Our Motorsports Journey

Every journey has a first step.

Ours began with a flight to Bangkok, hoping someone would be willing to give an unknown Singapore brand a chance.

One of my earliest introductions was to Hia Hung of Hung Modified. A friend in Thailand simply said,

“If you’re serious about motorsport, you should meet Hia Hung.”

It didn’t take long to understand why.

Among Thailand’s motorcycle racing community, Hia Hung has earned the respect of racers, mechanics and workshop owners over many years. Only later did I realise just how much of his story I hadn’t known.

Our conversation was simple, yet genuine. Between my basic Thai, a little English and Teochew, we shared what we could. I introduced NAMITEC, shared what we hoped to build and explained why I had travelled all the way from Singapore.

Before I left, I placed a few bottles of NAMITEC on his desk.

There were no promises.

From that moment on, the product had to do the talking.

Looking back today, that first meeting taught me something important.

Sometimes, earning trust begins by simply giving someone the opportunity to try.

Not long after meeting Hia Hung, another introduction led me to K. Top of Piak Auto Fix.

We met at a small café near his workshop in Bangkok. That conversation gave me a different perspective on motorsport in Thailand.

Behind every race is a community of workshop owners, mechanics and riders who know one another, share ideas and are always looking for ways to make their machines perform just a little better.

K. Top welcomed me to visit Piak Auto Fix, where I got a closer look at the workshop and learnt more about Thailand’s grassroots racing scene.

As before, I introduced NAMITEC, explained what we were trying to build and left a few bottles behind for evaluation.

I wasn’t expecting an immediate answer.

The goal was never to convince anyone in a single meeting.

It was simply to begin a conversation.

Looking back, that conversation led to many more.

By the middle of 2024, our journey brought us to Malaysia.

One name kept coming up whenever we spoke about off-road racing.

Acoi Pangkolo.

Acoi is well known in Malaysia’s off-road riding community. He is a KTM Factory Class A rider, KTM Academy instructor, co-founder of Pangkolo 77, and the 2023 Rimba Raid Champion.

Naturally, we wanted to meet him.

We introduced ourselves, shared what NAMITEC was about and left him a few bottles to evaluate.

As with every meeting before, we let the product do the talking.

The results would come later.

By late 2024, the journey took us somewhere we had been hoping to reach.

Indonesia.

More specifically, Solo – home of Ziear Racing Team.

By then, Pak Bima, the team’s Chief Mechanic, had already started trying NAMITEC in local races through our Indonesian distributor.

The early feedback was encouraging.

That was enough for us to get on a plane.

This wasn’t about attending a race weekend.

It was about spending time where the race bikes were actually built.

I visited the team’s workshop, met the mechanics, looked through their race machines and learnt what they expected from an engine lubricant during competition.

We shared ideas, listened to their experiences and discussed something we had been quietly developing – a dedicated NAMITEC Racing Formula created specifically for competitive racing.

It wasn’t a commercial product.

It was something built purely to help the team go faster.

Over meals and countless conversations, strangers slowly became friends.

At the time, nobody knew what 2025 would bring.

Ziear Racing was preparing for its first season in the Asia Road Racing Championship.

We were simply grateful to be part of that journey from the very beginning.

Looking back today, that trip to Solo became one of the defining moments in NAMITEC’s motorsport journey.
